December 11 “A storm of conductors”

Today we have come to Cadaqués to proceed to the Preliminary stage of the Competition.

300 young people from 50 countries have applied to enter the 12th Cadaqués Orchestra International Conducting Competition

The application deadline to enter the 12^th Cadaqués Orchestra International Conducting Competition has closed with 301 applications from over 50 countries around the world. The aim of the competition, which will take place from 11 to 18 December in Cadaqués and Barcelona, is to present and promote the international careers of orchestral conductors under 35 years old.

On the march the recovery of two lost works of Granados: Gaziel and Picarol

The aim of the Cadaqués Orchestra International Conducting Competition is to discover and promote young conductors from all over the world.

The first competition was held in 1992 and the event is essentially biennial. The latest competition was planned for 2015 but was cancelled owing to the economic crisis. Fortunately, this twelfth competition will now be held in 2017.
