Eighteen years promoting classical and contemporary music

The Cadaqués Orchestra was founded in 1988 as the Cadaqués Festival’s resident orchestra, and made its debut with the participation of Victoria de los Ángeles and Alicia de Larrocha. Made up of professional musicians from throughout Europe, the orchestra convenes regularly to participate in important series and festivals in Spain and abroad, and it has developed a reputation for performing programs with a flair for matching better known works from the symphonic repertory with other, more innovative works, especially rediscoveries of important pieces from the musical heritage of Spain and premieres of works by contemporary composers.

Gianandrea Noseda and Sir Neville Marriner as principal conductors

Its principal conductor at present is Gianandrea Noseda, winner of the 1994 International Conducting Competition organized by the Cadaqués Orchestra every two years.
Sir Neville Marriner is its principal guest conductor, and usually is conducted by Gennady Rozhdestvensky and Philippe Entremont. Ainhoa Arteta and Jesús Rueda are the orchestra's resident artists. Llorenç Caballero is the Artistic Director of the orchestra since 1990.
