Notification JOCG 2012

Who is elegible?

Music students who are currently learning an instrument at intermediate or higher level.

2012 activities

This year the Comarques Gironines Youth Orchestra’s activities are divided into two parts:

1) Meeting in July 2012: To be held at the Auditorium of Girona, from 23 to 30 July. Work will be done with Tchaikovsky’s 5th Symphony and 1812 Overture. With concertsat the Auditorium of Girona and the Peralada Festival.

The cost of the visit is €150 per participant*

* There is a grant scheme for those interested.

2) Recording project (strings and percussiononly) with the ensemble La Cobla Principal de la Bisbal. From 16 to 20 July at Girona Auditorium and focussed on cinema music. Followedby aconcert with the la Cobla Principal de La Bisbal at Girona Auditorium on November 30. **

** Participants onthe strings and percussion programme whotake part in the recording and the concert with La Principal de la Bisbal are exempt from payment of the visitor’s fee of €150 and will receive a separate paymenttowards expenses.

Auditions for admission to the orchestra

The auditions will be held on the following days at Girona Conservatory:

Saturday 14 April from 9am to 14pm: Strings
Saturday 21 April from 9am to 14pm: Strings
Saturday 5 May from 9am to 14pm: Woodwind
Saturday 19 May from 9am to 14pm: Brass, Percussion and piano

Within a week of the auditions, candidates will be notified of their acceptance or rejection as members of the JOCG 2012.

Membership of the Girona Youth Orchestra will last two years.
